MotionX™ FAQ

Q1. What is MotionX™?
A1. MotionX is the motion technology platform developed by Fullpower®. MotionX powers breakthrough iPhone games and applications using unique, advanced motion-sensing technology. MotionX is more advanced, complete, accurate, and reliable than other solutions.

Q2. What is Fullpower Technologies?
A2. Founded in 2003 by Sonia Lee and Philippe Kahn, Fullpower’s mission is to put sensing, and motion-sensing in particular, into every mobile device. MotionX is the motion recognition platform developed by Fullpower. As the leader in mobile sensing solutions, Fullpower is building on its expertise in wireless sensor technology to deliver unique, interactive motion-sensing games and applications. MotionX solutions are designed and developed in Santa Cruz, California..

Q3. Tell me about Fullpower solutions.
A3. Our first commercial offerings are iPhone games based on motion-sensing and multi-touch technology. Fullpower’s technology sensing expertise is in mobile, sports, imaging, life-sciences, gaming and renewable energies. Fullpower’s business model is to partner with industry leaders such as Apple, to make motion sensing a core part of every mobile device.

Q4. What games are you launching for the opening of the Apple App Store?

A4. The first game is a dice game designed and developed by Fullpower specifically for the iPhone. MotionX-Poker makes the iPhone’s best features shine: motion, multi-touch, sound and graphics. The player shakes the iPhone to roll the dice. The dice use the advanced MotionX embedded Physics Engine to roll, collide and settle, just as if they were actual dice. MotionX-Poker implements the classic rules of dice poker.

Q5. What can you tell me about the technology used in the MotionX-Poker game?
A5. Fullpower has developed the MotionX technology platform that includes the MotionX Recognition Engine and the MotionX Embedded Physics Engine. The MotionX recognition engine captures and understands the player’s hand movement. It is to motion what a speech recognition engine is to speech. The MotionX Embedded Physics Engine uses advanced mathematical algorithms to accurately model and simulate the dice by rolling, colliding and settling so that the user’s actual shake determines the outcome of the roll, as in real life.

Q6. Do you support ShakeShake™, TapTap™, Tilt ‘N Roll™ as gestures?
Q6. Yes. ShakeShake, TapTap, Tilt ‘N Roll are part of the gestures supported by MotionX-Poker.

Q7. When will MotionX-Poker be available? What is the price?
A7. The game will be available via the Apple App Store on the launch date with an introductory price of $4.99 athttp://www.apple.com/iphone/appstore/.

Q8. Is MotionX-Poker compatible with first generation iPhones and iPod Touch?
A8. Yes. All iPhone classic users will receive an OS upgrade via iTunes free of charge. Once they have the upgraded OS, they can then play MotionX-Poker on their phone.

Q9. Is there a Web component?
A9. Yes. Fullpower plans to deploy online rankings within a few months.

Q10. What other games will you offer? Will you support additional phone platforms?
A10. Just as MotionX-Poker was kept under the radar, there is a lot more to come. For more on the art of motion sensing, visit http://tinyurl.com/motionsensing.

Q11. Where Is Fullpower leveraging its motion recognition technology besides gaming?
A11. Renewable energy, sports and life-sciences are great opportunities for Fullpower’s Motion Recognition technology. Yet, we are very serious about sensor-enhanced mobile gaming.

Q12. Can you speculate on the visionary features we may see in future applications of Fullpower’s MotionX technology?
A12. Specifics of our solutions are secret. We can tell you that we are working to develop games and applications that are industry defining. Here are some examples:

Energy SensorWebs: MotionX for widely distributed mobile sensor networks.

Gaming: Fullpower is building a family of MotionX games for the iPhone. It’s a secret!

Pacemaker: Now with MotionX, you can tune the Pacemaker to the actual exact activity level and type of patient.

Insulin Management: Now an insulin pump can anticipate blood glucose dips from exact activity monitoring.

Image Stabilization: Miniature linear accelerometers which are smaller, cheaper and consume less power can now can be used to reduce hand jitter and blur in real time with no overhead.

Pedestrian Navigation: GPS in an urban canyon loses reception. Thanks to the 99% level of accuracy of the MotionX Engine, accurate dead-reckoning is possible.

Sports Accuracy: Accelerometerics through the accuracy of the MotionX Engine allow for unprecedented performance monitoring.

Q13. Did you use the Apple SDK to develop the game? Can you comment on your experiences with the Apple developer program?
A13. Yes. The SDK is great, and the iPhone is the best mobile platform. With motion, multi-touch, graphics and sound, it has got it all.

Q14. Can you tell me about Philippe Kahn’s involvement with the MotionX platform?
A14. Philippe Kahn and Sonia Lee are the founders of Fullpower Technologies, Inc. Fullpower is the world leader for mobile sensing solutions and has developed the MotionX technology platform to integrate motion into every mobile device. This includes breakthrough games for the iPhone. Fullpower benefits from Philippe’s love for sciences and in particular mathematics and physics. Fullpower has more than three dozen patents granted and pending. Philippe is often quoted as saying, “The Fullpower team is the best team that I have ever worked with!” For more information on Fullpower visit www.fullpower.com.
